About Miriam

As a qualified nutritional therapist Miriam studied at the University of Westminster where she was awarded a BSc in Nutritional Therapy. She is a member of the British Association for Nutritional Therapy (BANT) a professional, regulating body that promotes high standards of education, practice and ethics within Nutritional Therapy. Miriam also has a BA in sociology from the University of Sussex. Growing up on a farm in Cornwall, Miriam had an early appreciation of the origins of food as she helped milk the farm's house cow, make cheese and bake bread.

From a young age she saw how food could nourish, and also bring friends and family together giving enjoyment and pleasure. A long-standing interest in health and fitness coupled with the desire to work with and for people finally inspired Miriam to become a nutritional therapist.

Miriam strongly believes that improving the quality of a person’s nutrition makes a profound difference to their life. However she also understands that making the appropriate dietary and lifestyle changes can be a challenging and complex process.

Through her patient–centred, holistic approach she works directly to meet the individual needs and goals of her patients. Using scientific knowledge and research-based evidence as the foundation of her practice, she produces comprehensive, creative, and easy to follow personalised nutritional programmes. However with a background in the social sciences and the fashion industry, Miriam also has an appreciation of the complex psychological relationships many individuals have with food and eating.

In order to ensure the high rate of success her patient’s experience Miriam provides continual support through follow-up consultations, email and telephone check-ups.

With a private practice in North-East London Miriam treats patients with a wide-range of health conditions, most commonly these are allergies, digestive problems, stress-related illness, weight management and women’s health issues.

All too aware of the hectic pace of life many people lead, she makes office and home visits, and is available to conduct telephone consultations.

Miriam works closely with the Magic Breakfast, a charity that delivers breakfast food and nutritional education to UK primary school children most at risk of malnourishment. She is a trustee of the charity and has been directly involved in improving the provision and quality of school food through her work as a School Food Advisor.
