Case study 1

John, a 56-year-old CEO, came to me following an acute case of gout. It had been so debilitating he had taken two weeks off work.

The initial consultation revealed that John was consuming a number of foods and drinks shown to trigger attacks of gout. He was also slightly overweight, another contributing factor.

A comprehensive dietary programme was devised, that excluded items linked to the onset of gout and incorporated foods that supported his immune and detoxification systems.

An exercise programme was also set up that was manageable yet effective.

John complied closely to the programme, consequently many of his gout-like symptoms disappeared and he lost weight. Importantly since his initial consultation he had no further attacks of gout.

Case study 2
Paul, a 32-year-old journalist suffered from number of digestive problems. These ranged from bloating and belching to irregular bowel movements. He also felt extremely weak and tired, and found it difficult to maintain his previous exercise programme.

These symptoms, coupled with the information gathered from the initial consultation pointed to a number of digestive conditions, an imbalance in the beneficial bacteria in his intestine and a probable lack of the digestive enzymes, necessary for the proper breakdown of his food.

He was advised to eat little and often, to help maintain his energy levels. Additional supplementation was recommended in the form of probiotics, to re-establish the beneficial bacterial in his intestine, and digestive enzymes to aid in the initial breakdown of his food.

On his return he showed great improvement in his digestive processes, he felt significantly more energised and had began exercising again.

Case study 3
Sophie, a 27-year-old curator came to me suffering from bloating, fatigue and skin problems. She also wanted to lose weight.

It emerged she had a very demanding job that involved a great deal of international travel, consequently the majority of her meals were from hotels and restaurants, which left her feeling out of control of her food consumption.

Further investigation revealed her skin condition was linked to a deficiency in essential fatty acids.

A dietary programme was devised that took into account her hectic lifestyle, while helping her to achieve her goals.

Sophie followed the programme, finding it convenient and effective. Through the various meals planners and eating-out guides she had been given the nutrient content of her diet vastly improved, helping her to lose weight and boost her energy levels.
